The Tay people are one of (1) ___________ ethnic groups in Vietnam. They are located in the northern regions, such as Cao Bang, Lang Son, and Bac Kan. They have their own language, which belongs to the Tai language family. The Tay people are known for their rich cultural traditions, including their traditional clothing, music, and festivals. They celebrate various events, (2) ___________ the Lunar New Year or the Field Festival.

The Tay mainly practice farming and (3) ___________ livestock. Their homes are built on stilts to protect them from floods and bugs. The Tay people have a close (4) ___________ with nature, and their cultural practices show their respect for the environment. The Tay have kept their traditional way of life, (5) ___________ they have also made some modern changes. They manage to mix old customs with new ideas.

1. Living in Japan has been a new and exciting experience for me. I moved here from my home country Russia last year, and many things are different. For example, students can ask teachers questions about the lessons after school. Russian teachers do not answer calls or messages after class, so this was very surprising for me.

2. In Russia, we spend long evenings talking with family or friends. In Japan, people work hard and stay busy most of the day. The trains are always on time, which is unlike my experience back in Russia. And, I was surprised by how early Japanese people wake up and how much time they spend travelling to work or school.

3. Another thing about the Japanese is that they dislike wasting food. One time, I left a single piece of carrot on the bowl, and my Japanese friends were all confused. The food is diverse and delicious. Okonomiyaki and tsukemen are my favourite Japanese dishes, but I still miss the taste of kasha and samosa at home.
